Tool overview

[Adoption Judgement] adeptability is extremely early-stage, with only 6 GitHub stars, zero forks, and no known real-world usage reports, tutorials or in-depth reviews. Its stability, compatibility and long-term maintenance are unproven. It should be treated as an experimental tool; not recommended for production or team adoption.

[What it does] This CLI acts as a portable skill manager for AI coding agents. It lets you define a custom skill (prompt, rules, configuration) in one place, then inject it into multiple agent harnesses like Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot, Codex and 40+ others. It also detects content-hash drift to avoid stale configurations and includes a safety scanner to flag potential issues. Think of it as a dotfiles or package manager specifically designed for the custom skill files that control AI coding assistants.

[Cost & Fit] It is open source, runs locally, and has no pricing or API costs (based solely on the public GitHub repository). Usage requires basic CLI familiarity and some understanding of each agent’s skill file format. Ideal for solo developers or small groups that frequently switch between AI coding agents and need consistent custom behaviors.
