The available evidence is extremely thin: mainly the GitHub repo title and the phrase “Encrypt PII, not meaning. Locally.” That supports the positioning, but not claims about accuracy, robustness, or production-scale adoption.

Based on the evidence, its practical role is local handling of personally identifiable information in text, with the goal of protecting sensitive fields while keeping enough semantic value for downstream model use. It is not general-purpose encryption infrastructure, nor a full DLP, compliance, or data governance suite. A more accurate analogy is a local PII-redaction/pseudonymization layer placed before LLM ingestion.
