Tool overview

Bottom line first: Claude Mythos is best evaluated as a controlled AI security research system, not as a general-purpose coding model that ordinary developers can simply sign up for. The strongest evidence comes from Anthropic’s own posts: Project Glasswing explicitly ties it to securing critical software and finding vulnerabilities, and Fable 5 is described by Anthropic as a Mythos-class model made safe for general use. That supports adoption in narrow, high-sensitivity security contexts, but not broad assumptions about everyday developer workflows.

In practice, it looks more like an AI vulnerability researcher or code-audit agent than a normal chatbot. It is also not an app builder, no-code tool, or consumer coding copilot in the usual sense. Official evidence supports the claim that it is used for vulnerability discovery and critical software defense. By contrast, social posts calling it the “most dangerous AI” or claiming autonomous discovery of decades-old zero-days are better treated as proof of attention, not proof of repeatable product performance.
