Kungfu Trader is an open-source quantitative trading platform that began as a microsecond-level execution engine and evolved into an end-to-end solution covering research, backtesting, and live trading. It provides high-precision tick-level backtesting on full-market Level 2 data, online computation, and an AI-powered factor generation engine, enabling strategists to uncover insights from massive datasets within seconds.
Built with a C++/Python hybrid architecture, it delivers extreme low-latency while offering a cross-platform GUI and one-click setup. A serverless cloud architecture eliminates upfront hardware costs, allowing users to flexibly access costly Level 2 data. Recent integrations with large models like Amazon Bedrock assist in data cleaning, feature engineering, and anomaly detection, freeing strategists to focus on alpha generation.
The steep learning curve from mixed-language code and complex system design can challenge non-engineers. The AI tools require guided prompts and do not autonomously generate trading strategies. Certain features (e.g., fundamental data) are still under development.
