Krea AI centers on the Krea 2 family of text-to-image models, which has been open-sourced. It includes the fine-tunable Raw base checkpoint and the highly optimized Turbo distilled variant. The Turbo model can generate 2K images in about 2 seconds on consumer GPUs, and LoRAs trained on Raw can be directly transferred to Turbo, dramatically accelerating iteration.

Its biggest strength lies in its nuanced understanding of aesthetics and creative style control. Users can employ single or multiple style references, moodboards, positive/negative prompts, and a Creativity slider to precisely balance prompt fidelity with imaginative freedom, making it suitable for anime, photography, painting, abstract art, and more.

On the downside, the large 12B model requires significant GPU memory for local deployment, which may be a barrier. The real-time platform likely relies on paid cloud compute, and current evidence is mostly from community trials, so production‑grade consistency is yet to be proven.
