Adoption assessment: Logto is clearly no longer obscure. Its 14k+ GitHub stars, Trending exposure, and multiple X reposts or “open-source Auth0 replacement” list posts show strong attention, but that is popularity proof, not reliability proof. Better evidence comes from the official repo itself, a Nuxt integration tutorial, several Chinese deployment/integration walkthroughs, and one explicit user complaint about setup friction. Together they show real hands-on usage, but also that integration is not effortless. A cautious conclusion is that Logto deserves evaluation as an open-source identity option, while production-scale adoption, long-term operational reputation, and enterprise-readiness are still not strongly evidenced.

What it does: The supported positioning is clear. Logto is an authentication and authorization foundation built on OIDC/OAuth 2.1, covering app login, multi-tenancy, SSO, RBAC, and identity integration for SaaS and AI apps. It is not a design tool, not just a user-admin template, and not a consumer social-account product. A more accurate analogy is an open-source, self-hostable alternative to Auth0/Okta-style CIAM, or an auth backend you operate yourself.
