Mixboard

Based on the available evidence, Mixboard is worth adopting as an early-stage inspiration and direction-exploration tool, but not yet as a mature primary design tool. The heat signal is strong: many X posts have high reach, and Google officially mentioned Mixboard as one of the places using Nano Banana Pro. Still, that mostly proves attention, not product quality. The stronger usability evidence comes from a small number of hands-on posts and one Zhihu test-style answer, which suggest it is genuinely good at expanding a prompt into a stylistically coherent image set, then letting users edit regions, work from references, arrange boards, and export presentation-like outputs. The sample size is still limited.

It is not Figma or Photoshop, and it is not a full-service branding tool. A better analogy is an AI moodboard or concept-board workspace. In practice, its value is speed: turning scattered ideas into visual boards people can discuss. You can prompt a theme, add reference images, generate similar variants, revise parts of an image, and curate everything on one canvas.
