Onlook

Based on the available evidence, Onlook looks adoptable as a high-interest project for frontend UI collaboration trials, but not yet something we can confidently label a fully mature no-code platform. The heat proof is strong: multiple X posts highlight rapid GitHub growth and describe it as “Cursor for designers” or “Figma + Cursor.” But that mostly proves attention, not sustained usefulness. Usability proof is thinner, coming mainly from a few hands-on posts, Zhihu summaries, and capability breakdowns, so the sample is still limited.

In practice, it is better understood as a visual code-editing layer for React apps, not as Figma, Webflow, or a pure prototyping tool. The evidence supports direct editing of React UI, live preview, AI/chat-driven page generation, and screenshot-to-editable-interface workflows, with changes written back to code. Some sources also mention page management, design variables, layers, a code editor, and CLI features. A more accurate analogy is an open-source visual IDE sitting on top of a React project, rather than a hosted website builder SaaS.
