OpenHands Software Agent SDK
A modular SDK for developers to build secure, accurate, and customizable AI software agents quickly.
Tool overview
The OpenHands Software Agent SDK provides developers with a composable and extensible foundation for building AI agents that can handle coding, maintenance, data processing, and other software-related tasks. It allows flexible integration of custom tools, memory management, and frontends such as VS Code and browsers, enabling everything from simple few-line agents to complex, full-featured ones.
Key advantages include being LLM-agnostic (supporting multi-LLM routing), offering native sandboxed execution for safe code running with local-to-remote portability, built-in security analysis, high accuracy, and high configurability for diverse use cases.
Currently, publicly available information is mainly based on project announcements and research papers; verifiable data on long-term production stability, large-scale performance, and community support depth is limited. Using the SDK requires technical skills, self-configuration of LLM providers (which may incur usage-based costs), and deployment of sandbox environments via Docker or similar technology.
