Adoption verdict: if you already use Porkbun for domains and want Claude Desktop, Cursor, or another MCP client to execute lookups, DNS edits, or domain lifecycle tasks, this is worth considering. But the current evidence supports “official launch with some attention” more than “widely validated by long-term independent usage.”
In practical terms, this is not a website builder and not a standalone DNS hosting product. It is better understood as an MCP adapter layer for the Porkbun v3 API. The GitHub source says it exposes about 30 native tools for domain and DNS operations and mentions idempotency-safe writes. A more accurate analogy is “an AI-tool interface in front of your Porkbun account,” so agents can trigger tasks you would otherwise do in the dashboard or via API scripts.
On setup burden and cost, the evidence only clearly supports that it is an official open-source project and that Porkbun promoted an installation KB on X. There is not enough evidence here to claim pricing, extra API fees, hosted service availability, or SLA.
