Tool overview

Based on the available evidence, video-use looks like an early but credible project with strong attention and a clear engineering thesis, not yet a proven mature replacement for standard editing software. The heat proof is strong: GitHub Trending, multiple Zhihu roundup posts, and a highly shared X post all show rapid interest. The usability proof is weaker but still meaningful: a few walkthroughs, installation guides, and mechanism breakdowns suggest it can work, yet there are still limited public long-run test cases, so it is safer to say the direction is validated rather than to claim reliable end-to-end automation.

Its practical role is also easy to misunderstand. It is not a full consumer editor like CapCut, and not a general multimodal “AI director” that fully understands visual taste across long footage. A better analogy is a video-editing workflow and skill layer for coding agents such as Claude Code or Codex. The evidence repeatedly describes transcript-first editing with word-level timestamps, subtitle generation, automatic fades, and integration with HyperFrames, Remotion, or Manim, plus structured planning, linting, preview, and rendering.
