NetEase Sight (formerly Jianwai Workstation) is an online AI translation workbench developed by NetEase’s AI division. It focuses on speech-to-text, video subtitle transcription and translation, plus document/image translation. It is not a full video editor but an AI-assisted platform in the vein of “NetEase’s version of Descript or Rev.com with a translation twist.” Users upload media files and receive auto-generated transcripts or bilingual subtitles, which can be edited online and exported as SRT—commonly used for vlog post-production, meeting notes, and educational content. In practice, Zhihu reviews show that a 5‑minute audio clip can be processed in about one minute, supporting files up to 500 MB, though accuracy has limitations—one test found four errors and mediocre punctuation handling. Early official claims stated a 40‑minute video could be subtitled in 6–8 minutes, and partnerships with fan subtitle groups like YYeTs demonstrated its utility, but recent large‑scale benchmarks are absent, making it hard to compare with the latest AI models. It’s reliable for rough drafts but cannot replace human proofreading.
